Profiles of Children in Manabiya Nepal Orphanage
The orphanage currently is looking after 18 children. Most of them are orphaned while few come from very poor family, whose parents are unable to raise them. They’re all from remote regions of Nepal. Some of these children are:
Bikram Nepal
Bikram comes from remote region of Lamjung. His father is in prison and his mother disappeared abandoning him. Birkam is 5 years old and aspires to become a doctor in future. He’s currently studying in nursery.
Bijaya Pariyar
Bijaya is 10 years old and comes from Dhading. Both of Bijaya’s parents have passed away. Bijaya is studying in class 3 and wants to become either a dancer or a doctor in the future.
Chandani Gurung
Chandani is 8 years old and studies in class 1. She comes from Dolakha, a remote region north east of Kathmandu. Both of Chandai’s parents are dead. Like Bijaya, Chandani also wants to study hard and become a doctor in future.
Puspa Gurung
Puspa is just 5 years old and comes from Gorkha, a very remote and hilly region. She’s studying in nursery. Her mother is dead and her father is missing. In future, Puspa wants to become a nurse and save lives.
Bishwo Kumar Gurung
Bishwo is 6 years old and comes from Gorkha. Both his parents are dead. Bishow is currently studying in LKG and he wants to become a policeman when he grows up.
Binod Sunwar
Binod comes from Humla, one of the remotest places in Nepal. There are no roads there and you have to walk for days to the nearest medical services. Binod is 6 years old. His father is dead and his mother insane. He’s studying in LKG.
Ajaya Gurung
Ajaya is 8 years old and her one hand isn’t working. She’s currently studying in UKG and wants to become a doctor in future. Both her parents are deceased.
Sun Kumari Gurung
Sun is 11 years old and studying in class 4. He comes from Gorkha, a remote and hilly region. Both of Sun’s parents are deceased. She wants to become a lawyer in future and look after all the orphaned children.
Urmila Gurung
Urmila is 9 years old and studying in class 1. Her mother is dead and father missing. Urmila also comes from Gorkha and like Sun, wants to become a lawyer in future.
Alina Shahi
Alina is 13 years old and comes from Humla, one of the remotest places in Nepal. There are no roads there and you have to walk for days to the nearest medical services. Both of Alina’s parents have passed away and in future, Alina wants to become a good lawyer. |
