Profiles of Children in Light Orphanage Nepal
The orphanage is currently looking after 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys. Most of them are orphaned while few come from very poor family, whose parents are unable to raise them. They’re all from remote regions of Nepal. These children are:
Anila Thapa
Anila is 13 years old and arrived from Nuwakot, a place north of Kathmandu. She’s lived in the orphanage for 5 years. Both her parents are dead. She is presently studying in class 7 and wants to become a lawyer in future.
Pooja Thapa
Pooja is 9 years old. He comes from Nawalparashi, in the central region of Nepal. Her father disappeared after her birth and her mother married another person, abandoning her. She arrived 3 years back in the orphanage on the recommendation of her Village Development Committee. She is studying in class 3.
Anuska Dhungana
Anuska is 9 years old and comes from Nuwakot, a place north of Kathmandu. Both of Anuska’s parents have passed away. She arrived a month back and is enrolled in class 3 together with Pooja.
Rajendra Sapkota
Rajendra is 15 years old and arrived from Rasuwa, a remote region that borders Tibet. Rajendra’s father is deceased and his mother is missing. He arrived almost 6 years back and is presently studying in class 9.
Ramesh Pandit
Ramesh is 9 years old and is an orphaned child. He comes from Nuwakot, a place north of Kathmandu. He arrived in the orphanage just one month back and is studying in class 2.
Radha Paudey
Radha is 14 years old and comes from Nuwakot, a place north of Kathmandu. Her father suffers from paralysis and is unable to walk. Her mother depends on others generosity to survive. Radha arrived 4 years back and is studying in class 9.
