Profiles of Children in Child Orphanage Nepal

The orphanage currently is looking after 7 children, all boys. Most of them are orphaned children while few come from very poor family, whose parents are unable to raise them. They’re all from remote regions of Nepal. These children are:

Subash Shrestha

Subash Shrestha

Subash is 12 years old. He comes from Sindu Palchowk, a very mountainous region north of Kathmandu. Both of Subash’s parents are dead. Subash studies in class 2 in nearby Unnayan School Sadan in Bishalnagar.





Jaya Shrestha

Jaya Shrestha

Jaya is 11 years old and comes from Dhading, a remote region in the central north of Nepal. Jaya is an orphaned children and came to the orphanage through recommendation from his Village Development Committee. Jaya studies in class 2 and enjoys games more than studies.





Hira Shrestha

Hira Shrestha

Hira is 9 years old and is the younger brother of Subash Shrestha. Both his parents are deceased. He comes from Sindu Palchowk. He is currently studying in LKG and he wants to be able to be fluent English speaker when he grows old.





Yanga Shrestha

Yanga Shrestha

Yanga is 11 years old and studies in class 1 in nearby Unnayan School Sadan. The school is about 10 minutes walk away from Child Orphanage Nepal. Yanga comes from a very poor family. His mother is paralyzed and can’t move and his father has to feed and look after 6 other children. Hence, he prefers to stay in the orphanage where he is looked after and fed far better than in his house.




Rubin Shrestha

Rubin Shrestha

Rubin is 8 and the youngest child in the orphanage. He comes from Dhanding and both his parents are deceased. Rubin studies in LKG and likes to sing rhymes taught in the school. He also likes to play with his classmates.





Lal Bahadur Shrestha

Lal Bahadur Shrestha

Lal is 10 years old and comes from Gurge Dhada, a place not far from Kathmandu but very remote. Both his parents are decease. He had studied until class 1 in his village but is enrolled in LKG as he has found going tough in the school in Kathmandu. He wants to study hard and get promoted quickly. He realizes that he is the oldest student in his class.





Sundar Shrestha

Sundar Shrestha

Sundar comes from Dhading and is 10 years old. He’s very shy and an introvert but when playing games, he likes to run around like a rabbit. Sunder is studying in class 2. His teachers think Sundar is a very talented student as he understands most things very quickly.
